Creating Books with iBooks Author

In this workshop you will learn how to create a book in iBooks Author for use on an iPad. These interactive, immersive books, allow you to design, embed audio and video, and meet accessibility guideliines.

10 Things to Know
  1. iBooks Author is a OSX App only. You must be running OS X Lion, Mountain Lion, or Mavericks to download.
  2. iBooks Author is a Free App. You can download it through the Mac App Store.
  3. Books created and produced in the iBooks format from iBooks Author can be read on an iPad or Mac running Mavericks.
  4. Books created with iBooks Author can be exported as PDFs
  5. You do not need to upload your book to iTunes to be able to share it.
  6. You can upload and share your book to the iBookstore through iTunes.
  7. If you want to sell your book, you must upload it through iTunes and have it approved.
  8.  Accessibility tools are built into iBooks Author.
  9. The interactivity makes the book!
  10. There is no such thing as an iBook (Though we will use that term a lot in this workshop, it is incorrect).
